Honor Society!


Description/ Mission:

National Honor Society is more than just an honor roll.  Membership in this organization is based upon a student’s outstanding performance in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character.   


  • Scholarship:  Students who have a cumulative weighted grade point average of 3.5 or above meet the scholarship requirement for membership.
  • Service:  This quality is defined through the voluntary contributions made by a student to the school or community, done without compensation and with a positive, courteous, and enthusiastic spirit.  Students are required to participate in minimum of five NHS events each year.
  • Leadership:  Student leaders are those who are promoters of school activities, good problem solvers, idea contributors, and persons who exemplify positive attitudes both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Character:  The student of good character upholds principles of morality and ethics, is cooperative, demonstrates high standards of honesty and reliability, shows courtesy, concern, and respect for others, and generally maintains a good and clean lifestyle.


Vandebilt Honor Society also requires a student to be a member in good standing in a minimum of two extracurricular activities.  (A fall sport and a spring sport count.)
